Gossip Girl's Westwick and DJ Josh Madden Rock K-Swiss Party Tonight in NYC

All of my friends and readers in NYC should head down to Bloomingdale's tonight for some sneakers and celebrities, courtesy of our friends at K-Swiss. Gossip Girl star and Brand Ambassador Ed Westwick and celebrity DJ Josh Madden will be on hand to sign shoes and keep the party going to promote the K-Swiss Remastered Classic shoes, complete with an old-school dance off with kids from local schools.

The event will go down at the Bloomingdale's 59th Street at 1000 3rd Avenue on the Metro level at 6 PM.

Final Nike Air Yeezy Colorway Drops Tomorrow

If you are not sleeping out in line right now or have some sort of a hookup, odds are that you will be paying $750+ for these on eBay or Craigslist.

The third and final colorway in the super-popular Kanye West-designed Nike Air Yeezy's are to drop tomorrow and word around the country is that people have been lining up as early as Tuesday to cop a pair. Good luck and sweet dreams, fellow sneakerheads! Pic courtesy of my friends over at Huf.

Nike Takes the Gladiator Trend to Another Level

Love them or hate them, it seems that every other woman you encounter is rocking the gladiator look. Nike brings its own version, looking like one-half Russell Crowe, one half soccer boot. Thoughts?

Colette got a run of these in at 80 euros a pair, and they flew off the shelves in minutes.

Sorry for the absence, but I promise to make it up with lots of fun posts--these coming to you from Virgin America's wifi!

Nike Air Tech Challenge Hybrid

As a life-long tennis player, it always warms my heart when I get to see some of the classic kicks I wore growing up resurface as reissues and even get remixed a bit. Nike has done it again with the release of the hybrid Air Tech Challenge, made famous during the late 80's/early 90's by the one and only Andre Agassi.

Taking elements from the Air Tech Challenge models II, III and IV, this 3/4 shoe will bring back fond memories for both tennis players and sneaker historians alike. And they are sure not to set you b ack the $400+ that a vintage pair commands on eBay.

The Nike Air Yeezy Has Landed!

First let me forgive the long delay in providing new content to my loyal readers. But without further adieu or excuse, I present to you the newest member of the family--the Kayne West-designed Nike Air Yeezy.

Looking like it was put together in Kanye's basement lab while he was watching Back to the Future, inhaling Pop Rocks and waving glowsticks, the shoes are sure to be spotted a mile away--and almost assuredly will be knocked off by enterprising fraudsters.

For those who have been eagerly anticipating the arrival of the aofrementioned kicks, it should come as no surprise that they incited people to sleep out and were snapped up quickly by those in the know, commanding massive amounts of cash on eBay.

For now though, I shall simply marvel at their design and wait for a sunny day to bring them out of hiding.

Under Armour Looks to Run Circles Around Their Competitors With New Launch

Renowned as one of the premier companies that offer workout apparel for top athletes and gym rats alike, Under Armour has now expanded its reach into the competitive athletic shoe market with an extensive line of running shoes that will drop at retailers starting January 31st.

The new line features proprietary technology called called Cartilage. Appropriately named, as the independent suspension system works like a “connective tissue” between a runner and his environment to enhance performance and provide an exceptionally stable and smooth ride.

Ranging in price from around $85-120, the line will launch with both road and trail shoes and are endorsed by NFL players Santana Moss and Brandon Jacobs, as well as the winner of the 2007 Ford Ironman Chris McCormack. An impressive launch by any standards--and if their shoes are anything like their athletic wear, you are bound to see Under Armour on trails and street everywhere soon.

Two Words You Never Want to Hear: SOLD OUT

Sometimes you do all you can to prepare for buying that sneaker you have had your eye on since the blogs dropped some knowledge on you. You know the date...the time...the price...how early you need to line up or how quickly you need to refresh the webpage. And more times than not, you end up getting shut out because everyone else has learned the same lessons over time.

My luck has been pretty good lately, so it was only a matter of time that others would snap up the booty and I would be relegated to scouring the pages of eBay for the dreaded secondary market. So to all of you lucky enough to snag the Undftd X Converse Poorman's Weapon, congrats.

Now back to training for the next sneaker drop!

How do YOU roll?

I have always been mildly obsessed with the creativity that people put behind personalized license plates. I know there have to be other sneakerheads out there with plates that show their passion for kicks. Send them and I will post them!

So whhile few can afford a Ferrari, now you can rock their likeness on your feet and on your head, in your choice of red or black. Photo courtesy of Complex.

Reebok and Vans Help Sneaker Fans Get Into the Hallowwen Spirit

In case you have been living in a cave and have not seen the spooky decorations and bags of candy decking your local grocery store, Reebok and Vans have stepped up to remind us that Halloween is just around the corner. More and more sneaker manufacturers are coming out with holiday themed releases, so that sneaker fans can show off their spirit--and perhaps for Halloween incorporate them into their costimes.

Waterproof Nike Air Force Ones

With the rainy season arriving in the not too distant future--sooner for some than others--what better than a new low-top Air Force Ones in an earthtone-hued shoe that is waterproof set to drop October 25th? Usually reserved for their ACG line of products, Nike will soon drop the Air Force One in a shoe that will look good--and keep you dry. I have a pair of the Air Force III that they did last year in similar material, and I can confirm that they will keep you dry, if they aren't a bit stiffer than the normal materials used to build their counterpart shoes.

Disney X Ubiq Fatima Mickey Mouse Edition

Anyone who follows sneaker culture knows that collaborations between Disney and Japan streetwear brands are super popular. The latest to drop is that between footwear brand Ubiq and The Magic Kingdom.

The Mickey Mouse edition Fatima sneaker will be sure to sell out quick, given the number of fans of both Ubiq and Disney, so be prepared to catch them quickly or pay dearly on eBay.. The shoes feature Mickey’s silhouette stitched onto the back heel as well as a Mickey pattern on the inner lining of the shoe.  Look for them at stores like Atmos soon.

Yahoo! X Pony: Sneakers Kick Off "Start Wearing Purple" Campaign

I have been anxiously awaiting the new limited-edition kicks that Yahoo! was cooking up with resurgent sneaker brand Pony ever since I got wind that they would be dropping soon. Available for pre-order now here, the exclusive run of purple and white kicks will help to kick-start the new "Start Wearing Purple" branding campaign.

Yahoo! CMO of Buzz Marketing Sean Florio took some time out of his purple-pimping to answer a few questions for Sneaker Blogger's readers and tell them how to get their hands on the new kicks before they are gone.

Sneaker Blogger: What’s it been like working with Pony—and how did you decide to collaborate with them? And how much input did Yahoo! have in the design process?

Sean Florio:A few of us on the team have always loved sneaker culture and wanted to take our brand to a new place with something we haven’t done before. We knew we wanted to work with a brand with some history that had some amazing products in the pipeline, so we approached Pony. They’ve been amazing to work with on the program – we had an initial meeting with them a few months back, and Kyle Pulli, their VP of Design, came back with some great designs. Our creative direction was pretty simple – interpret purple. Soon after the meeting we were looking at cool purple concepts for the collaboration sneaker.

SB: Can you explain the idea behind the“Start Wearing Purple”campaign?

SF: "Start Wearing Purple" is a figurative call-to-action by Yahoo! for people to live life as an individual – and with an exclamation point. Through this program, Yahoo! is emphasizing its roots through the color and spirit of Purple, which has been core to its DNA since it began. Purple emphasizes individual spirit, imagination and innovation.

Airwalk (Yes, that Airwalk) Brings Argyle to the Ladies for Under $20?!

Given the ever-increasing trend to make shoes more and more limited [and therefore more and more expensive], it is refreshing to see that the folks from Airwalk [a mainstay in the skating scene in the 80's/90's who are experiencing a resurgence in today's nostalgic market] can combine a great shoe with an unbelievably cheap price.

For less than $20, you can put these stylish slip-ons on your feet and be ready for class/work/play. I wish I could remember the last time I paid $20 for shoes...sigh.

Pick them up now at www.airwalk.com

Nike Air Max 90: Air Burger

Sneaker fans around the world know Stockholm's Sneakersnstuff, which will now serve as the home of Nike sportswear in Sweeden. To celebrate this occasion, the store will house art works interpreting classic Nike shoes and apparel.

One of the most unusual pieces is the stellar interpretation offered by Olle Hemmendorff.  His sneaker burger turns the Air Max 90 into a homage to burgers and kicks--what more could a guy ask for?  Photo courtesy of our friends at Vice.

Troop Pro Edition Red: Back From the Dead(Stock)

I have been a fan of Troop since the days of way back, and even had the good fortune to pick up a vintage pair of red low tops on a recent trip to Vegas, so when I saw the good folks at Sneaker Freaker drop the infomation on the soon to be released Troop Pro Edition Red kicks.

Troop follows on the heels of other successful brands relaunching for audiences who have had to suffice with the vintage--like Starter, who have relaunched with a vengeance. For hip hop heads like myself, keep the old brands coming. Can Cross Colors be far behind?

Dorothy Tang for Adidas Beijing Brand Center

It takes something unique for us to depart from the strict edict to cover only sneakers, but from time to time something catches our eye and makes us sit up and take notice. For this rare departure, it helps that the item is made for one of the biggest shoe companies in the world--Adidas.

In honor of the launch of their new brand center in Beijing, Adidas has commissioned new customized furniture from designer Dorothy Tang and the result is pretty astounding. One can only hope that they put some of these items up for charity auction on eBay--or make them on demand for their loyal fanss who assuredly would decorate their home with pieces like these. Thanks to our friends at High Snobiety for the photo.
